Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of guiding a real estate company that has become the largest on the Maltese islands. My journey began with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, as I co-founded JK Properties Limited alongside my brother and father back in 1999. At the time, we had a simple but ambitious goal: to establish ourselves as the go-to real estate agency for corporate clients in need of relocation services.

Our combined skill sets allowed us to achieve success quickly. With my marketing expertise, my brother’s relentless drive, and my father’s financial savvy, we transformed our vision into reality within a year of launching the business. During those initial years, we secured contracts with major corporations like Skanska, a global construction firm tasked with building Malta’s General Hospital; Nortel Networks, a telecommunications company establishing the country’s first 2G network; and the Malta Shipyards, a leading employer of expatriate engineers in the shipbuilding industry.

We managed the housing needs of hundreds of expatriates arriving in Malta, during a period when the nation was undergoing significant infrastructure development. This positioned us as the trusted “Letting Specialists” in the local market.

Over time, our company evolved beyond just letting and relocation services. We eventually expanded into a full-fledged real estate enterprise when we acquired the franchise rights to operate RE/MAX in Malta, propelling us into new realms of the industry.

My Professional Journey: A Foundation for New Opportunities

At the age of 15, I began my working life with a summer job in a printing factory. By 17, I was already involved in sales, working for a friend’s travel business. Later, I transitioned into marketing, selling advertising for the company where my father worked. Each experience taught me valuable lessons about business operations, customer service, and how to market effectively.

It wasn’t until I co-founded my own real estate company that I realized the true potential of blending marketing strategies with solid business management principles. Over the years, I worked in every aspect of the industry, from leasing and relocation services to managing large teams and launching new brands.

My most exciting professional achievement was building the RE/MAX brand into one of the most recognized names in Maltese real estate. Equally, the greatest challenge was managing and motivating a team of 350+ agents and 30 managers to consistently improve performance and productivity.

Now, I’m applying these same principles—leadership, team management, and performance optimization—in new arenas.
